Albarubens is a third-party testing laboratory, located in Italy and operating for worldwide customers.
Tests are performed on components, equipment and materials, in order to determine performances, durability and safety.
The laboratory is capable to reproduce all the climatic conditions, performing electrical, physical and mechanical verifications.
The operations are accredited under ISO/IEC17025 by A2LA, so the issued reports are accepted all over the world.
All the measurements are fully traceable to the International System of Units.

Albarubens is always looking for aspiring scientists who join our workgroup, both in Italy and in the rest of the world.
It needs a technical culture, better at university level, but also good general and linguistic training.

Albarubens laboratory is now equipped to quickly qualify the facial masks, used to protect from the potentially dangerous aerosol.

Albarubens laboratory performs tests for certifying special boxes developed to transport batteries classified as "at risk of explosion". These tests are performed under ADR Regulations but they are very similiar to ATEX tests. In order to study and possibly avoid thermal runaway - a consequence of the battery being subjected to “adverse effects” - we test also flame arresters and aerosol extinguishing systems developed to manage such events.

Lithium rechargeable cells are increasingly widespread, but unfortunately they present some critical issues. In particular, there is the risk that they burst, a phenomenon which is scientifically called "thermal runaway". If poorly designed and assembled, this problem can spread to the entire battery packs, with a paroxysmal trend with serious and unpredictable consequences. The laboratory has gained experience in triggering and analyzing this effect, on all types of cells, an essential preliminary operation to investigate its consequences.
